Turks name Kenny Miller price

Recommended Posts

No, the bottom line was that he changed his tune when Rangers wouldn't meet the fee to buy him.

He didn't have the option to return to us.

He was also informed, through the press quotes from Smith, that he'd have to take a huge pay cut to join us. I'm sure that appealed greatly.

Another great reason for criticising someone who didn't have the option of jpoining our club.

It's true that we wouldn't offer more than £400k. Ally said that. But I find it hard to believe that he'd have joined us over Cardiff had we offered the required amount given they could offer him a greater wage than we can.

"Is Kenny prepared to look at the wage structure of Scottish football as opposed to Turkish football?

"That is what attracted him there in the first place. He is very well paid.

Kenny Miller never struck me as an honourable player who put football first. tbf very few players do. And that line about his family? If they're settled in Scotland he will STILL be away from them a lot. I think Gav is correct about this excuse now tbh.

Yeah, let's slag off Miller when Rangers never had a bid accepted for him. :meh:

How can he show disloyalty when he can't sign for us?

I'm saying he's disloyal because since he left in January he's spoken to the press about dealings he shouldn't have commented on. Obviously Miller doesn't have any respect for Rangers if he's willing to blab to the press about having been offered a new contract on reduced wages. He even specifically said in at least one interview that we were asking him to take a 30 to 40 percent reduction. When a player is no longer under contract he's obviously free to say pretty much whatever he likes, but it's not the done thing to talk about the money side of contract offers and IMO it was extremely disrespectful of Miller to do so. He clearly did it because he's got such a high opinion of himself after Rangers resurrected his career that he thought the club were being disrespectful to him by offering him a contract on reduced wages. IMO he cut his nose off to spite his face because he could have accepted the reduced wage, still earned about 13 or 14 grand a week and stayed here with his family. I actually think that to Miller it was a matter of principal and not really about the money. It's as if he thought 'how dare they ask me to take less money'. If he had been a bit wiser about it maybe he'd have thought 'well it's less money, but it's still a great wage and I'm happy here in Glasgow'.
