Cuellar offer accepted?

Recommended Posts

According to what I've been able to find out from Villa sites he's about 2 weeks away from resuming training, so no, he's not fit yet. Still working to get back from injury.

Villa fans are not fucking happy about this news btw! Almost all of them to a man are going to be seriously pissed off if they sell him for £2m. Most Villa fans think he's their best defender. He was offered a new 3 year deal at Villa twice in the past season but was reluctant to sign up unless he knew he would get regular games.

I'm not trying to put a dampner on things here, but I can't for the life of me see how we're going to be able to offer him a high enough salary to lure him back when he's been getting offered new deals off Villa. Muchos Respectos to the guy if he comes back to us and takes a huge wage cut.

Thanks for injecting a welcome touch of realism but surely if there was no mileage in it Ally wouldn't have raised it in the first place. There must have been some informal dialogue taking place before it got to formal stage. My concern is his fitness, for why otherwise would Eck let him go - there's no way in the world he's a poorer defender than Collins and Richard Dunne.

What is the potential bonus money Rangers player can earn on top of their salary?, winning the League Cup,Scottish Cup,SPL,CL.

Just wondering what kind of money the likes of Cuellar could earn on top of his alleged £25k with us.

Yeah was wondering that. Perhaps a generous but affordable signing on fee also?

The more I think about this, the more I wonder if he is stringing us along to ensure he gets his name out there. I might be wrong, and he has realised what he left behind (many do when it is too late) but he is going to lose a lot of money, if he joins the Bears.

As has been said, so far only the Record has this news, not even a hint at the gossip site of the BBC or NewsNow.

Just to keep the feet firmly rooted here.

My feet are firmly planted mate, wait and see if he signs for me.

Having said that Rangers should push the boat out to resign Carlos,we need a CB of his calibre and is worth splashing the cash on.

Cant see that one. Dont think Cuellar is that type of guy. Plus Villa wouldnt have accepted the offer if he wasnt willing to come back. Im sure he has sat down with Mcleish and spoke about it.

The only strange one is how other EPL teams havent bid for him. He'd improve most defences down there and 2m is a snip in their market.

One thing is for sure - we will not find out today because Smith is apparently in Italy :sneaky:
