Ross McCormack returns to the Scotland team for the first time in nearly two years for Wednesday's Carling Nations Cup game with Wales.

The Leeds forward will win his sixth cap when he partners Kenny Miller up front at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Christophe Berra and Gary Caldwell are in defence, with Stephen Crainey and Steven Whittaker the full-backs.

Steven Naismith, Scott Brown, Charlie Adam and James Morrison form the midfield quartet.

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor will win his 12th cap as Scotland look to build on February's 3-0 win against Northern Ireland.

Manager Craig Levein is without regular captain Darren Fletcher, who is preparing for Saturday's Champions League final with his Manchester United team-mates.

Craig Gordon, Alan Hutton and Graham Dorrans are absent due to injuries and Celtic midfielder Kris Commons withdrew from the squad with a hamstring problem.

Peterborough striker Craig Mackail-Smith is also out since he will be playing in Sunday's League One play-off final against Huddersfield.

Sunderland full-back Phil Bardsley has been troubled by a hip injury but could feature in Sunday's match with Republic of Ireland.

McCormack last featured for Scotland in a 4-0 World Cup qualifier away defeat by Norway in August 2009 and was substituted by then-manager George Burley after 37 minutes.

His one Scotland goal came against Iceland in a 2-1 win at Hampden.

Scotland: McGregor, Whittaker, G Caldwell, Berra, Crainey, Naismith, Brown, Adam, Morrison, McCormack, Miller.

Can we stop playing Wales. It's embarassing.

Coleman blaming McGregor. Bit harsh I feel.

Absolutely. AM has not had a save to make where the Welsh goalie has had a few good saves. Scotland are playing this game like a pre-season freindly though, with the exception of Whittaker who is a great pro. However when you're two CB are Heid & Berra any team is likely to score against you
