The guys there at the moment must do better. Another point if we play like we played yesterday we won't need to worry about 2nd place. Hearts battled back for a draw today against their big rivals AWAY from home, can you see the current Rangers team doing that? calscot 0 Posted October 16, 2006 Share Posted October 16, 2006 If you look at Sir Alex, he was 1 game away from the sack at Man Utd after 3 or 4 years, so these things can take time. I don't think that's a good comparison as Man U hadn't won the league for decades, so he was bound to get some slack as long as they were near the top and winning the odd cup. We're used to winning the league every other season at worst and so anything less is a failure and real success is winning it at least 2 out of every three seasons. Asking Le Guen to win the league is a bit like asking Fergie to finish second. Rangers finishing second is like Man U finishing 4th and finishing 3rd is like Man U finishing 6th. Le Guen deserves some time but he's only going to get one season for free and even then he'll have to show a massive improvement over where we are now. He has to close the gap on Celtic, finish above Hearts, win at least the Scottish Cup and preferably the League Cup too and give us a fantastic run in Europe as compensation for finishing second, for him to restore his reputation with the fans.
