Bigotry, Bombs and Football

Recommended Posts

I have question: is Neil Lennon really a Catholic - does he actually practice that religion? I really doubt it as he rarely acts anything like a Christian in the slightest. So my second question is: if he's not Catholic or of any other religion, how can any crime against him be religiously motivated - any more than a crime against Ali G is about him being black.

I hate the way that a stupid, exceptional act of a couple of nutters is used as evidence that the rest of Scottish society is sick. If we're using such logic then it follows that we should shut down the Catholic church for being a paedophile ring... ie it's stupid and crazy.

BTW People are forgetting that the IRA are mostly made up of Irish Catholics (and I think Celtic would be hurt if they weren't supporters of their team due to reciprocation) and there have been two bomb alerts recently. Does that mean that Irish people and the Catholic church are sick and should be investigated? Or is that somehow, "different".

In fact, if Scotland is sick, what does that make the Republic of Ireland?

Total and utter joke. How can anybody on here say this was not biased?

Not really a lot of point in making a statement without explaining yourself and letting people know what you are talking about.

I would imagine that if he is Christened a Catholic then he is officially a catholic whether he practices it or not. The point that you make is a very grey area. When does doing anything against him become racial or sectarian. For me the postman joke is going totally over the top and I hope the guy has the guts and money to fight it in the courts. If I wear a T-Shirt saying I hate Neil Lennon does that make it sectarian? The Law is entering very patchy area here and could end up with thousands of stupid court cases.

I think I mentioned most of those points in the post that I made but I think the programme were questioning the fact as to why only 6 people had been banned so i don't really see why that makes the programme biased against us. Stating that Celtic refused to work with the programme is also not biased against us as far as I can see. I did say that having a film of Hearts supporters singing and not the Celtic support wasn't very good but I can only imagine as I stated in my post was not to make it look lop sided against Celtic. I am sure if they really wanted to they could have asked Sky for a video of the Tyncastle game to show on the programme. I am afraid I didn't take enough notice of the website posts to say it was only Rangers posts that were on it. As the rest of the programme was balanced out 1 for 1 I find it hard to believe they done that to be honest but I would need to watch again to be sure.

As I said I did not find it particularly biased against Rangers but I did find it a cheap scratching at the surface and at times stupid documentary.
