Possible CL qualifying opponents for Scottish champions

Recommended Posts

Here's how it's looking for the draw tomorrow then folks. We will be drawn against one of 10 teams from the following list (2nd qualifying round 1st leg scores are in brackets) -

  • Genk
  • Mogren or Litex Lovech - (1-2)
  • Slovan Bratislava or Tobol Kostanay - (2-0)
  • Pyunik or Viktoria Plzeň - (0-4)
  • Maribor or F91 Dudelange - (2-0)
  • Bangor City or HJK Helsinki - (0-3)
  • Valletta or Ekranas - (2-3)
  • Zestafoni or Dacia Chişinău - (3-0)
  • MalmÃ?¶ FF or HB TÃ?³rshavn - (2-0)
  • Shamrock Rovers or Flora Tallinn - (1-0)

The teams I've made bold are either already on the list in the case of Genk or are favourites to go through to this 3rd round based on their 2nd round 1st leg scores. The second leg for most of those games is on Tuesday 19th, so we'll find out then unless we're drawn against Genk or one which looks close to a certainty such as Viktoria Plzeň or HJK Helsinki.

The one team we don't want in the 3rd qualifying round is Genk.

There's a few teams I'd rather avoid to be honest. The Czech mob Viktoria Plzeň will be a good team.

You look at that list of sides and they read like the obscure bowels of European football that even our reserves should be able to handle.

But going by our pre-season displays, you can't really take much for granted.

.....the teams that do go through will be hoping to get Rangers in tomorrows draw.
