Why did we sign Healy?

Recommended Posts

Tbh he is just another bad signing in a long list from Walter.

He has done well when called upon, good backup player IMHO.

Every manager from every team has a list of bad signings not just Walter.

Walter's actually done well with the signings he's made in his second spell. All have contributed something or other. The only blatant failures have been Webster, Gow and Beattie. Unless you chaps can think of more?

Healy was brought in as a replacement for Beattie/Miller. We didn't know that we were also going to get Diouf until the very last moment of the transfer window and obviously decided that we could do with them both to bolster the squad.

To be honest I have thought more of Healy in the short time he has played than anything Diouf has done.

I don't see that point in that, even if he is on buttons.

We need to increase squad numbers. If Healy does that for a low wage then we get a win-win in that we have a squad player who could be relied upon (has looked useful in his limited appearances, certainly more useful than Beattie) and at low cost.

No harm in it.

I feel sorry for him in some sense, he never seems to get much of a chance and if he does sign a new contract I fear he'll only be seen in the early rounds of the cup games.

Of course, you never know what course the team will take under Ally, so it's a case of 'wait and see'.

That loan guy from France. His name is on the tip of my tongue, he had one good game, his first in the CL, then done SFA.
