Frankie 8,563
Pretty sure Gordon Smith said in the papers we're not interested in him or the Greek left back.
Cotter 0
I've been scanning all the forums for any potential scrap of transfer info for weeks it seems, to little avail. Very frustrating. But fucking brilliant. It's so nice to actually have a sense of expectation again rather than dread. I still can't quite believe we came through that dark time as champions. Bring back The King!!! Frankie 8,563
Apparently fee agreed for Miller - ~£1.1million according to Turkish press. Doubt it will be that much but given we paid the same amount for Velicka a few years back, it's hardly top dollar for an experienced international who has proven he has the quality required. Like most folk, I'd prefer a younger and better version and it is frustrating that we sold him just 6 months ago for a third of that figure but c'est la vie! Gribz 850
That sounds crazy when you think of it. Its like lending him to Turkey and we pay 700k but they pay his wages. I do want him back and Id rather Miller for 1.1m that Goodwillie for 1.5m - 2m.
der Berliner 3,745
Not wanting to debate all too much, but the signs could be that we will groom Hemmings as back up to Healy and Miller. Of course, you'd have to remember that we also have Lafferty and Beattie here, and we won't want to have too many strikers about (should injury stay away from us). STV chaps noted that the RSA striker Mphela (whom we look after same time last year) is going to have a trial at the Timdome soon ...

Danny 0
You would also have to remember we have Jelavic We have one marquee striker. We don't have a second. Previously we had Boyd Miller then Miller Jelavic. Now we just have Jelavic and a bunch of rotatable players alongside him. Admittedly there's Naismith but he'll most likely be mostly a winger again. Super_Ally 0
We have one marquee striker. We have probably one "marquee" player in each area of the field McGregor Bougherra Davis Jelavic The rest of our players can be described as dependable at best. In the context of the SPL our overall first team/squad is the best over the last couple of years but that is perhaps in part due to marquee players taking an average squad above the levels of the rest of the league. Would we have won the league three years in a row if those players were not here and our first XI was something like: Alexander Whittaker Weir Boogie Papac Diouf Edu McCulloch Wylde Lafferty Naismith Doubtful. (The team formation can be argued but the point is just to illustrate how a first XI could look without star names). In writing this I feel actually perhaps Naismith could be included in that first group. However if Jelavic, and to a lesser extent one of the other three named (as our squad stands) were injured or suspended, we look incredibly average in that department of the field. We could cope with one or two of these players missing but it shows how fragile the strength of our first XI is at the minute. To be fair the same pattern is evident across our teams from the past few years but this year more than ever we could do with some real quality additions and not squad fillers. ian1964 10,724
Wesley Verhoek http://www.vi.nl/Nieuws-item/203749/Glasgow-Rangers-mengt-zich-in-strijd-om-Verhoek.htm Rangers will shortly make an offer to Wesley Verhoek (24) ADO Den Haag. Scotland's top club, last season for the 54th time champion, searches specifically to strengthen the undermanned vanguard. right winger Verhoek was high on the list manager Ally McCoist assist. A departure of The Hague, which has a fixed season with a club option for another year end, hanging all summer in the air. ADO previously reached an agreement with FC Utrecht, but the player himself refrained from any transfer. Last week, Arizona is also in The Hague. The Alkmaar inquired about the asking price for Verhoek. "We took the sum indicated that FC Utrecht for him would pay a substantial sum, and about that they would consider themselves internally. Since then we have heard nothing ', says commissioner Mark van der Kallen.
