Frankie 8,570
Bannan is a defensive midfielder so probably not a priority. A decent price quote there though but I'd imagine Villa would want more cash.
Gazza_8 233
The general lack of info about these friendlies as well as our women's teams is something that should be worked upon. On a sidenote and after reading a few "raving comments" about him ... ... might have been an option too. Dunno where he plays though. Central midfield. Cracking left foot too. andrew_2010 0
After seeing Bannan for Scotland duty, I would bite their hand off, especially at that price! Phenomenal young Scottish player who has the potential to be a key player for the national side for the best part of a decade. Would not have expected this type of story! craig 5,199
Forgot to say that even although he's now into the last year of his contract, we maybe can't afford le Fondre anyway because he's probably worth a fair bit of money to a Championship club looking for a good striker. Rotherham have announced they want 350k for him plus 50k in add-ons. Per skysports..... Skysports.com understands that Rotherham United have set the asking price for top marksman Adam Le Fondre at £350,000 with £50,000 additionally needed in add-ons. With only a year left on his current deal, and chairman Tony Stewart announcing that his thoughts on Le Fondre's market value change every day, the club have made clear they need a sufficient instalment of any offer up front and need enough time left in the window to bring in a replacement for their prolific centre forward. Le Fondre's outstanding form has alerted the attention of a number of Championship and League One sides including Leicester City, Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday. And Rotherham confirmed on Tuesday evening that a fresh offer from the Owls, reported to be worth £300,000, was turned down. Rotherham's chief operating officer Paul Douglas said in the Yorkshire Post: "We have had a bid (from Wednesday) and we have rejected that bid for not meeting our valuation." Millers chairman Tony Stewart wants Le Fondre to stay to help the club win promotion and has described a recent offer from Coventry as a 'joke'. Stewart said: "Coventry came in with a joke bid a fortnight or so ago but I am sure they weren't serious. "I got the impression it was more a case of them wanting to show their supporters that they were trying to do something. "Our view is that if Alf stays, we have a good chance of winning promotion. So we want him to stay."
Super_Ally 0
Just watching sky's transfer updates and on the screen where they show the players linked on the right hand side they had Verhoek listed. Did he not sign for someone in Holland yet?
Gazza_8 233
Just watching sky's transfer updates and on the screen where they show the players linked on the right hand side they had Verhoek listed. Did he not sign for someone in Holland yet? BBC reported that he had signed for Ajax but feck knows where they got that from because he's still at ADO. £400k for Le Fondre? Sign him up. Danny 0
I'm not exactly buzzing for this Fondre guy. But that's 2 'marquee' strikers we've missed out on in Hemed and Goodwillie, and time is running out.
der Berliner 3,747
AFAIK, we are only linked to Le Fondre because some FFers brought his name up. It became a long thread and nothing more. Rangers were never linked to him. That said, 400k is not that much and since Hemmings is now crocked and Beattie bound for England, why not? Back up for the time being, and he apparently knows where the goal stands. Which could not be said of Lafferty ... when we signed him.
