GovanAllan 0
btw, Edu to Blackburn has reared its head again today. Was one of his biggest critics last season but came on to a game after the split would like to see one more season out of him yet there is a player in there somewhere. Gribz 966
Looks like Ally is building a team for the future. Hopefully its full of guys who would run through a brick wall to play for Rangers.
ian1964 10,780
Star keeper Allan McGregor could be a target for old boss Alex McLeish at Aston Villa NEW Rangers chief Gordon Smith is facing a frantic first 24 hours in the job today with a Swiss move for Madjid Bougherra and Alex McLeish attempting to take Allan McGregor to Aston Villa. Smith will report to Murray Park this morning to begin his new role as director of football. Top of his agenda will be making sure that McGregor, Steve Davis and Steven Whittaker are all tied up on new long-term deals. But McLeish is set to throw a spanner in the works by making Scotland No.1 McGregor his top transfer target at Villa. And Smith could also be receiving a call from Neuchatel Xamax. Record Sport have learned the Swiss club have prepared a lucrative contract offer for the unsettled Bougherra. With the stopper determined to leave the SPL champs this summer, new manager Ally McCoist wants Villa defender Carlos Cuellar to return to Ibrox. And McLeish's interest in McGregor might enable Smith to make some kind of trade - if McCoist is willing to let go of a match-winning keeper. Big Eck has also been linked with his former Birmingham No.1 Ben Foster but, with animosity between the city rivals at an all-time high, negotiations are unlikely to run smoothly. Which is why McLeish may opt to move for McGregor. Gers have been prepared to sanction Bougherra's sale for some time and Chechen billionaire Bulat Chagaev, who completed a Neuchatel takeover last month, has identified the Ibrox star as a key £1.5million signing target. He is also interested in Everton ace Mikel Arteta, Marseille's Gabriel Heinze, Sevilla's Freddie Kanoute and Blackburn star El Hadji Diouf, who spent five months on loan at Ibrox last term. Record Sport understands the oil and gas supremo - who sacked coach Bernard Challandes after just 18 DAYS and could now move for Ruud Gullit as boss - is willing to pay new signings in the region of £40,000 a week. Rangers have received no bids for Bougherra as he approaches the last year of his Ibrox contract. The 28-year-old has already knocked back a megabucks move to Qatar but Neuchatel have made contact with his agent to sound him out over a two-year deal. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2011/06/20/hectic-first-day-for-new-rangers-chief-gordon-smith-as-villa-target-mcgregor-and-swiss-move-in-for-bougherra-86908-23213782/
der Berliner 3,884
Well, methinks McGregor stated his intent to stay at the club. Only hard and much money might change McCoist's opinion, possibly with Cuellar attached to any deal. What I found more interesting was the info that Blackpool striker DJ Campbell was available for just 1.5m. Still not our price package, as his wages might be far too dear for us - unless he wants to exchange that for trophies, fame and glory, while living on a 10 to 15k weekly "diet". I don't think Blackpool payed big wages to any of their players and are probably on a par with our wage structure. However, I don't think Campbell is good enough for us. Danny 0
What a fucking dilemma that is! We get Carlos but only if we sell them McGregor? Bastards. I hate Eck.
Danny 0
Wrong side of Forty mate. I agree with the speculation bit just wish once in a while press con at Ibrox and no one has a clue who's walking through the door. Ya auldy. tbh we do get signings out of the blue now and again. It just doesn't happen that often.

Guest Dutchy
Maybe the keeper hasn't said it, but Eck has been saying that a keeper is his proirity. It had better be a £10 millon plus priority if we're to even think of letting him go?
