UEFA impose one match away ban on Rangers

Recommended Posts

It seems to be fairly clear. Mentioning the pope and use of fenian seem to be the 2 issues.

Aye,I know these in particular are obvious. Is that the end of the offended as long as these two words are never sung??

That will be the term that is displayed on banners held up by the offended support , not difficult to defend that one

If a Rangers fan calls themselves a hun, it doesn't mean that it suddenly isn't offensive to be called one by a celtic fan.

You and I may mean one thing when using that term but frustratingly while there are some (and not just Rangers fans) that use the slang/abusive term in respect of RCs then it's difficult to argue the point.

As far as I'm aware. The club and UEFA don't appear to be suggesting that anything else is verboten.

This is my point BD,as far as what I have read from a lot of Rangers fans who were at the PSV game these words were never sung, the song '' we are Rangers, super Rangers '', was apparently sung but without the add ons!!. My point is do FARE and UEFA have phyisical evidence,ie recordings, of these words being used. I'm not trying to be awkward,I'm just trying to understand the actual reasons for the fines from UEFA. I assume this will be in the written statement from UEFA?.

Without the add-ons? You mean that the line containing the F word was not sung?

It was sung at Ibrox.

I understand that a DVD was submitted which highlighted and proved the songs that were sung.

Ok,I never got to see or hear the game,I'm only going on what I am reading from a lot of fans that were there, and they are saying the add ons were ''cheating bastards '' as opposed to the other add ons. If these add ons were used then I'm sure they have evidence.

I like to think it's by democratic right in a free society to sing what I want where I want and when I want it

It seems you like to think backwards. Your attitude is that of the complete opposite of democracy - what you are looking for is something called "anarchy". You seem to be rebelling against the principles and laws of the country that clothed you, fed you and educated you...

there's still a time and a place for singing our songs but that place is not in front of anyone who can use them as a stick to batter us with.

I can't believe there are people who think there is actually a place for these songs - what is that all about? With this kind of attitude, we are guilty as charged.
