Galloway threat to sue Gers fans' site

Recommended Posts

EX-MP George Galloway is threatening to sue a Rangers fans' website over allegations punters made defamatory claims that he is anti-Jewish.

The politician, 56, has told the Follow Follow messageboard to apologise, give an undertaking the comments will not be repeated and pay his lawyers' bill - or he'll sue.

Yesterday letters warning of the threat were delivered. Mr Galloway's spokesman Ron McKay said: "Unless they do this a writ will be issued. He's successfully sued in the past for this. He is anti-Israeli, not anti-Jewish."

In 2008 a Jewish radio station in London went bust after being forced to pay the then Respect MP £15,000 for a similar slur.

Mr Galloway, who is standing in next week's Scottish election, is also suing the Canadian government for £1million over a travel ban in 2009 that was later overturned.

Follow Follow operators Footy Mad declined to comment.
