Tackle On Lafferty

Recommended Posts

I have seen red given for less. His studs were showing so it should have been red. Would I have given it if I was a ref, then the answer is no.

Then ibviously you should never be a ref. A refs job is to apply the rules of the game, whether it is in the first seconds of a game or the last seconds. That was right in front of him, it was an off the ground, studs showing challenge - a straight red, absolutely no doubt about it.

Any Tim complaining about not getting two penalties needs to be shown that challenge and the push on Papac too.

Simple answer craig you have now seen it probably umpteen times in slow motion. I do not know where the Ref was but from the rear view it just looked like an ordinary trip. We really are starting to sound like Tims on here. The Ref never gave it and I can see why lets move on to the next game.

No, that youtube clip was the first time I saw it. and I only watched it the once.

Pete, it is nigh on impossible to trip someone when tackling them directly from the front.

Sorry, but where is the "we are Tims" comment coming from ? All we ask for is the ref to make the correct decisions. That was a straight red card, the ref was standing no more than two yards away and he didnt even book him. How is that "timmery" ?

Look at the tackle from the Camera at the rear of the incident. It looks like he just tripped him. i believe that Lafferty's body was covering the referee's view. I think the ref just got it wrong because he was unsighted. These things happen in football games.

Similar to Stokes, the cheats tackle, a few games back and a similar time. Thomson bottled it if it was later in the game or a Rangers player then there would have been a different outcome.

Was Thompson the referee in that game too?

Two awful early tackles both on Lafferty.
