RFC Sale - To be announced tomorrow?

Recommended Posts

Completely agree. It would seem that some of the "players" have been pursuing an agenda that is not in the best interest of the club and the support. I refer to the "A" word. Aministration would allow a buyer to buy the club cheaply, the cost would be handing bragging rights to the green and gray ranks for evermore. Not a price I would wish to pay.

My source very close close to LBG tells me a somewhat different story to that portrayed in the article by Ron Moore? He says that progress is at pedestrian pace and that Whyte is still being very slow to produce documents particularly around working capital which is the key to getting agreement. He says that Tuesday looks ambitious in terms of getting all the paperwork done.

This inability to produce evidence of working capital seems to keep cropping up. Can any of our accountants explain why this might be a protracted procedure if he genuinely does have the money?

RANGERS £53m takeover will finally be concluded this week with Craig Whyte becoming the new owner in time to hand manager in waiting Ally McCoist a summer transfer war-chest.

Documents relating to "working capital " which have delayed the sale have now been presented to David Murray and the Independent Board allowing the sale to be ratified to the Stock Exchange within the next 48 hours.

Despite reports that the Motherwell millionaire was ready to walk away from the deal because of so called "stalling tactics" Whyte has agreed all the terms with Murray and Lloyds bank and, as exclusively revealed by express/star sport two weeks ago, will now provide £10m to McCoist to strengthen the squad.

"All the working capital and investment required is in place and has been ratified. All the assurances needed by those that matter have been given so we expect the takeover at long last to proceed this week " said a source close to the deal.

"At a stroke Rangers football club will be completely debt free, will have money to invest in new players as well as keep key personnel and cash to make stadium and training ground improvements.

"Not many clubs in Britain can say that which is the legacy David Murray wanted to leave to the club and the supporters."

The deal will mark an end to Murray's 22 year association with Rangers during which time they have won 36 trophies and 15 out of 22 League Titles as well as a UEFA Cup Final appearance

Murray wanted to leave the club in the hands of someone who take it forward. Not some weak-legged Ellis bid of last season, but a strong one. Won't hold this against him.

And, BTW, as much as people lambast him for the debt et al ... had the banks not gambled on billions in the US, no-one would have a second look at 20odd million debt these days. Anyone chasing the banks about this though?

It wasn't the banks that were signing players like they were going out of fashion on ridiculous contracts , the buck stops with one man and one man only MURRAY

We were in serious financial trouble ,in fact have been in serious financial trouble long before subprime was even invented

So why the all the cheer-leading for the bid that's best for Murray best for LBG and which threatens the very existence of Rangers.

The banks gambled on money, the bubble burst, the markets plumped, MIH fell into a nigh bottomless pit and we went along. Simples, actually. Had the credit crunch not happened, no-one would really have cared about our debt. We run dry when MIH and Murray run on empty.
