Press The Ball And We Win The League

Recommended Posts

Why the big change from St Johnstone and Hamilton, to Aberdeen last night? Do we take some teams and results for granted, while others we know we will have to fight. Sorry Rangers but you are not good enough to take any team for granted.

Fight and press the ball in every game till the end of the season, and we will win the League.

I agree.

Press the ball and the space around the ball, in the same way we did against Killie in the Scottish Cup game at Ibrox and ra Sellik in the League Cup final. It's hard graft, but the high energy approach must prevail in these last seven games.

More work-rate is obviously welcome but we have to improve the quality of our set-plays.

In the 2nd half in particular last night we must have had a combined 10-15 corners and free kicks in the final third of the pitch. Yet, only once did one of our players win a header as every other delivery was dreadful.

We openly and publicly adopted pressing tactics high up the park in Walter's last season as manager on the advice of Tommy Moller Nielsen, and look what happened that season...

There is no set formula for winning a league - if there was everybody would be doing it, and then who would win?

I don't know why Diouf was taking them all, well most of them. He really isn't that great. Ok, he pops the odd lovely ball into the box, but almost any player can get the odd corner or free kick right.

The number of corners we had in the last 10 minutes, and not once did we take a short one in order to keep possession.
