McCulloch ready to return to action for Rangers

Edu I doubt would be dropped for Ness but McCulloch will be back and should take his place. I could still see Walter including Edu and shifting Davis out on the right again that would make me cringe if that were to happen.

I would put Ness in front of McCulloch - but even a half-fit McCulloch would get the nod ahead of Edu IMO - Edu was instrumental in our SPL win the other year - but this season has been a headless chicken. I thought it might have been us... but I watched him against Paraguay for the US last week and he was equally ineffective.

Something has definitely gone wrong with Edu this season, seems to lack confidence, constantly gets caught in possession or gives the ball away. No doubt Ness is a great prospect as is Hutton who seems stronger and can send a pass across field no problem.

But if I was a player (which I was not) the first man I would want on the team sheet would be McCulloch, always there to take a pass, always directing traffic and never lies down.

Exactly mate, and this is the reason WS will play him almost every game, which I'm not saying is correct, but having someone on the park commanding, directing and generally influencing players around him is just as vital as what you do with the ball.If you asked the players who they miss the most in games it would be him I reckon.

The funny thing is that some were happy when McCulloch became injured because Edu could get a run in the team instead...

I wasn't one of those, but initially I was happy enough to have Edu in there given his past form.

Turns out that Jig only returned to full training with the rest of the team yesterday, so he must have just been out doing some work with the physio earlier this week. Personally, I think it's way too early to bring him back for the Aberdeen game midweek. You're talking about him only having had 3 days of proper training before the game on Wednesday.
