Danny 0
Celtic with their 8 point lead and looking pretty at the top of the table, us off the back of some inconsistent results and performances. Today this collosal machine was humbled rather meekly by a fairly mediocre Motherwell side, trounced by us a few weeks ago 6-0, while a Weirless Rangers dispatched St Johnstone in a toothless but ruthless manner. There I was practically polishing the league trophy off to give to the mutants, when suddenly the league is turned on its head and it's in our hands again. Now, there's still a fair while to go, but I am going to remember today the next time I feel this league is done and dusted. It's twisting the night away. I would also like to add the footnote that without Weir at the back we look far more robust and reliable. But apparently Walter's implied he'll be back for Wednesday, which I don't like the sound of one bit. His presence is a major handicap.
Gazza_8 233
Celtic went to Fir Park today thinkingall they had to do was turn up to win the game.
gisabeer 409
we were pretty average today. slack for the most part. The jelly man is a class act though and walter should settle on a partner for him. I would play diouf up front with him in a 4 4 2 formation. It would certainly make me more confident for the remainder of the season.
Whosthedado 1,745
aye I agree 4-4-2 on Wednesday. Jelavic and Diouf up front and I would like to see young Vlad given a chance against them too
Gribz 966
There will be more twists again this season but now its all about the most consistant team. Yesterday was perfect. Win our games in hand and we are back on top and the last OF game at Ibrox may be the decider.
Frankie 8,687
I didn't think we looked all that much more solid without Weir actually and we still sat too deep regardless. Wednesday's formation is a big decision for Smith. Does he recall Weir and go with a 5 man defence as per in Europe? Or does he stick with a 4 to allow Jelavic an essential partner up front?
Bluedell 5,785
I didn't think we looked all that much more solid without Weir actually and we still sat too deep regardless. I felt that the back line was able to push forward much more than usual and the midfield had more freedom to support the forwards. Weir may be a miss defensively but his absence had a lot of positives in the team's approach to the game.

Weir may be a miss defensively but his absence had a lot of positives in the team's approach to the game. I'd say that was more because of the improved attitude of Edu/Davis than anything else. When they're attacking enough and solid in possession we don't have to worry about the defence; deep or not. If they don't work hard and/or give the ball away too often then we start to have problems no matter the defence. For example, after half-time yesterday Lafferty simply stopped playing, Wylde looked uncomfortable on the right, Edu started to sit deep and we invited St Johnstone onto us. At that point we struggled a bit. Wylde then moved to the left, Fleck came on for Healy and we maintained possession a bit better up front which brought Davis back into the game.
