Gribz 966
Played 1 season too much mate. Would have retired an absolute star last summer but this year has caught up on him. Probably not his fault as WS has used him as if he is 19 plus Andy Webster couldnt manage to pull on a jersey. Weir needed to be used sparingly like Alex ferguson uses Giggs and Scholes but Weir has played almost every game.
bmck 117
Definitely. David Weir is a legend, but he's had an absolutely terrible season. This is an absolutely horrific performance.
Gers4Life 0
Horrific midfield from us and Celtic have played us off the park, no support for jelavic, lafferty on for Naismith for 2nd half.
metlika 0
Tbh I called for him to retire at the start of 09/10 season but he was brilliant, was caught out for pace a few times but his reading of the game is top notch. This season he has been very very average, a season too far indeed for me.
craig 5,199
Yep, much of our problems lie at having to rely on him. Time to say "Thanks Sir David, but father time has called your number" and put Kyle Bartley at the back beside Bougherra.
Guest puk
Smith is responsible, although he would have you believe it is the bank, leave the players out of it Smith makes the selections and signings. If he cannot and will not see what the chap on the Clapham omnibus has seen for some time he should consider his position, in the interest of the club and the fans.
stewarty 2,069
Bartley and Bougherra should be the centre half partnership for the rest of the season. But it wont happen sadly.
Gazza_8 233
Said to my mate when it was 2-0, "If Weir hung up his boot at the end of last season he'd have become a Rangers legend."
ian1964 10,780
doesn't matter who played at the back today, whoever played there would have been exposed as we have no midfield
Danny 0
Ah, this is what I was going to start a new thread about. Disagree Ian, Bougherra wasn't exposed like Weir was. Davie was a fucking shambles today, and was directly to blame for the first 2 goals. He's too old, slow, and no longer is capable of playing at this level. He got done against Sporting too but they're not as good as Celtic so he got away with it. If Walter has any sense he'd drop Weir permanently and put Bartley in there. We need pace, strength and someone to scare strikers. Weir is sadly pathetic now, and today was his worst display since joining us. And it's just been deteriorating this season.
