McCulloch - To have operation next week

In my opinion no. Feel free to shot me down but we have in the past played our better football without him in the team.

Obviously not counting Wednesday night against Hearts with that statement?

During our great run in December last year - widely considered the best football of Smith's return to Rangers - McCulloch partnered Davis in the centre of midfield.

Aye but Jig never played well during those 5 or 6 games. It was like playing with 10 men for the majority of the games. :boogie:

Add in two titles, a close third, a run to the UEFA Cup final with some decent stuff in Europe generally (including away wins in Lyon and Lisbon) and being in contention again this season for 4 trophies; the argument against not playing McCulloch - who has been a mainstay in the team throughout these relative successes - isn't a very strong one.

Again, nobody is suggesting McCulloch is a great player or essential to the team. However, to suggest he hasn't contributed (or is useless) is somewhat overly negative and not really worth debating when one looks at the facts.

And let's not forget our 3-1 win at Parkhead earlier this season, or going to Old Trafford and getting a draw.

Yeah, Man Utd were just lucky we played with 10 men against them. Imagine what we would have done if McCulloch hadn't been playing.

McCulloch also played in the cup final where we had two men sent off. How could we still win the game with 9 men if he's a waste of a shirt - does that mean we really won with eight men? Doesn't ring true to me.

He WAS booked though... :)

I'd be more shocked if you said he wasn't booked. :D

Ok so he is world class then, seems i just cant see it.

With views like this no wonder there is only 10 people on this site.

Hahaha. Now you're just twisting the words of people to suit your own views. Show me where anyone has said McCulloch is world class. You'll see most people are saying he's an average player, no more and no less.

Grow up.
