pete 2,499
I couldn't believe the police cancelled the game so early. I can't see the streets from here but with temperatures of 6 degrees I am sure they could have got the area surrounding the stadium pretty clean.
Whosthedado 1,670
The surrounding areas at Motherwell werent exactly great to be honest but I'm still here to tell the tale. Games are called off far too readily at the minute
ian1964 10,720
I'm still angry at this game being called off a day & a half before kick off with a thaw on!!!!,it's absolutely ridiculous.
pete 2,499
Personally i think it is part of the conspiracy to get more of our players fit.

There'll be loads of grit down to melt the ice but the temperatures aren't high enough to thaw and drain away. The top lair of ice thaws but then re-freezes at night when the temperatures drop below freezing. It's a slow process for the snow/ice to thaw and drain away. I've not seen the streets surrounding McDermaid Park but you'd think the police and anyone else who decided to postpone the game had their reasons.
Gers4Life 0
I can just see the scenario right now, rangers to play 4 games in 8 days or some or something along those lines
Zappa 0
We're all big boys, walking on a wee bit of ice is always dodgy, canny believe the polis get so much say in if a fixture should go ahead, the weather forecast is not bad. It's denying clubs money and the SPL should over rule this. Do the polis close down shopping centres because of ice on the pavements???,and why is there ice on the pavements??,the local councils should be held responsible, remind me again what we pay our council tax for???. Disgrace. A few weeks back the Cops called off a game at Tannadice because of the weather, but allowed a game at Dens Park across the street to go ahead the following night despite no change in weather. The excuse trotted out by the cops was something about crowd size and parking spaces. Like you say Ian, total disgrace.
Zappa 0
I believe the powers that be should now scrap Scottish cup replays for this season and play each tie to a finish on the night, then the nights earmarked for replays can become league matchnights. Great suggestion, but the powers that be aren't smart enough to do that.
