Zappa 0
EREMENKO SETS SIGHTS ON OLD FIRM OR PREMIERSHIP Monday December 6, 2010. By Gary Keown RUSSIAN-born Killie hero Alexei Eremenko has a team of special agents working on a January move with England or the Old Firm top of the hit-list. Eremenko's father and advisor Alexei Snr teed up the deal that brought him from Metalist Kharkiv to Rugby Park on a short-term loan in August. And he has told Express/Star Sport that it is now time to seek answers from the Ukrainian side on their plans for the winter transfer window. Should Metalist opt to cash in and sell, Alexei snr has a couple of Mr Fixits sounding out interested clubs and has a strong idea of where he'd like to see his boy end up. Alexei Jnr admitted last week that he would be happy to stay at Killie for the rest of the season, but his parent club will have the final say. His dad, also head coach at Finnish side FF Jaro, said: "If there is a bigger club in Scotland or a bigger league in the neighbourhood, let's say, I would probably like to see him move on. "I have a couple of agent friends who are working on this and I suppose now is really the time for them to do a proper job.At the moment, though, there have been no solid approaches to my knowledge.Of course, Metalist will decide in the end. "I have a special relationship with the sports director at Metalist, but he has pointed out that it is up to the coach as well. "Mind you, there's no point in taking him back there if he is not going to play. "If something comes up for Alexei in the winter window, it is in Metalist's interests that he is in good shape and playing well for the moment." Alexei jnr won the SPL Player of the Month award for November and has admitted a move to a bigger club in Scotland is something he would consider. He said: "I am 27 and still have time to play at the highest level possible.Celtic and Rangers are big teams and every player wants to be with a big team.If something comes up, I am going to look at it very carefully." ..............
