Rooney to leave Man Utd

Recommended Posts

Have no idea why the media are getting so excited about this topic like its the end of Man Utd. Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, Cantona etc have all left in the past and Man Utd kept going.

My opinion is Man Utd have had the best of him anyway, I think he will be like Owen and have peaked earlier in his career and only go downhill from now. He isnt like Lampard or Ian Wright who get better as the years went on. Its like when Henry was leaving Arsenal everyone thought Arsenal wouldnt be the same, they got better footballing wise, just needed the top Pro's like Campbell, Henry and a keeper for a title.

Man U should cash in on him now. If they could buy 1 from Sneider, Mueller, Robben, Kaka (possibly swap with Real?) or went for Van der Vaart or Ozil in the summer they would be flying right now. They are missing a class act in the midfield.

They should sell Rooney, take the cash and a profit and say thanks very much then go try nick Torres from Liverpool who obviously wants to leave Anfield.

Rooney leaving in January for a bit of cash is the best scenario for Man Utd. He's got a shit attitude and will become just the latest in a long line of players who leave great clubs like Man Utd only to find that the grass isn't greener on the other side. Is he really going to be happier in a foreign country?

He was easily one of the top players in the world last season, which was enough to make him a legend in his own head and I can see that one season being his peak. He's been dropped for two or three games this season and he doesn't have a leg to stand on given his form, yet that's enough for him to take the huff and start thinking he's bigger than the club.

In a way I understand him wanting more money, if you look at the likes of Yaya Toure earning more than double what Rooney does, and the majority of the England side now on more than him, but he gets no sympathy from me. Not that I have anything for or against either, but personally I'd rather play for a proper club like Man Utd than a Hollywood freakshow like City. I'd find a way of getting by on £90k at Utd I'm sure.

Its because the likes of Yaya Toure are getting £200,000 then he is going to be wanting that, well his agent. Rooney is an idiot tbh, another reason (excuse) not investing in the squad. He has a point there, unproven players like Bebe (who?), Smalling (Conference player 2 or 3 years back). They cost £18m and a proper pro could have been bought. I am not defending Rooney cause he is so in the wrong but can sort of understand the player situation but in no way can I understand the money situation. Man U were offering a substantial rise considering their finances he should have been surprised they offered so much.

Holloway is damn right though.

Like I said before, I understand Rooney looking at lesser players in the EPL earning more than him and wanting more, but the way him and his agent have treated the club and manager who helped make him leaves a bad taste in the mouth, and is symptomatic of the sickening degree to which player power has spiralled out of control.

Holloway is dead right. Money has killed football.
