Dundee enter administration

Recommended Posts

What they owe the taxman is chickenfeed compared to what Liverpool owe the bank and the taxman, yet they are likely to get away with it because they are a much bigger institution than a small 'family' club.

Liverpool aren't getting away with anything. They may also be forced into administration, but they do have options for repayment, unlike Dundee.

I just meant that that big clubs have huge debts yet banks rarely seem to threaten them with calling in their debts - they seem to pick on the small fry. You don't seriously suggest that L'pool could ever go to the wall?

It isnt always just a "big guy gets away with it but the small guy gets hammered" though.

Liverpool have a far bigger, broader revenue stream than Dundee.

You have to look at whether the debt could be serviced or not. The bank, more than likely, think Liverpool have the means and revenue streams to service their debt whilst they dont believe Dundee do.

You cant simply look at the debt in absolute terms. Dundee owe 300k whilst Liverpool owe 300 million - you cant simply say it is 1,000 times more so Liverpool should have their debt called too.

I would hazard a guess that Liverpool's debt, even at 300 million, is safer than Dundee's.
