The aim of the organisation is to be autonomous and to maintain a single consolidated body to represent all Rangers Fans. The organisation shall be non-political and non-sectarian. The objectives for which The Assembly is established are to: Improve Communication/Consultation between Rangers Fans and Rangers Football Club. Represent the views of Rangers Fans to Rangers Football Club in matters of policy, services and any other pertinent matter

* Create a stronger association between Rangers Fans and Rangers Football Club

* Reduce fragmented discussions.

* Help to grow the Rangers fanbase worldwide.

* Help to ensure the long term growth of Rangers Football Club.

Interesting objective in bold - wonder how they are getting on with that one.

Just can't take them seriously at all.

Thought the rst was the thing when it started,and gave a lot of my time to, but soon started to see the cracks.

I do not for the life of understand why we have so much trouble with politics and egotists within the supporters they really should have the one aim, Rangers.

The first sentence and they are failing badly.

1. to be autonomous - they are in no way autonomnous. they are still receiving their grant from the club, as far as I know, and do they come out and heavily criticise the club? The bit on their site about the TBB and TFS is a joke and their is no attempt by them to put either song in context. There is so much that they do that they are told to by the club and despite some noises a year ago abou attempting to do so they have failed badly in this respect.

2. to represent all Rangers fans - their primary membership are supporters clubs and there are 18 out of 22 on their committee that represent supporters clubs or supporters club organisations. They do not represent season ticket holder, for example.

Then why don't we form an Rangers Season Ticket Holders Action Group this RST.... on second thoughts :whistle:

What about the non ST supporters which would be a much larger group? Surely they must get their own representative organisation? Or the largest group of all, the Fans Against Representative Twattery.

I agree that in their quest to be autonomous they have not made any ground in 7 years, and that they do follow the official club line on almost everything. There are, like the other organisations, very good Bears at the heart of it on the board, but that underneath the few active guys there is very little going on.

As far as representing ALL Rangers fans, while I can agree that there is no actual representative for ST holders as a group, I would guess a large number of ST holders are covered already through RSC's. It would be interesting to see if they have figures for how many of our ST holders are RSC members. There could also be a number of ST holders who are members of the RST, and therefore represented at RSA board level through the RST representatives on the RSA board. Until we see the numbers, we have no idea how many ST holders are not covered by the RSA, it could be significant, it could be minor, it doesnt mean however that they should be ignored either way i'll agree but I am sure whatever number you get to, the majority of them will be of the non-interested category (i'll obviously exclude yourself and Frankie from that list BD!!)
