International break....

Recommended Posts

Is so boring! The actual games themselves arent bad and I do enjoy watching Scotland but its more a case of the days in between there is nothing to discuss on Rangers and that our next game seems ages away plus the lack of action over a weekend including the EPL.

Id probably prefer an international fortnight during a Domestic break when 4 qualifiers could be played to get them out of the way in 1 go and it would probably bring more interest to them having muliple games in a league type basis.

i grew up fixated with the national team. Now I can't be arsed with it at all. I think it started with the treatment of Souness but on the whole it's increasingly felt like the authorities in Scotland have one rule Rangers and another for everyone else. SFA, SPL, it all feels the same. The Duncan Ferguson episode was shameful, as was the introduction of the video panel, the attitude about TBB travesty, the treatment of Richard Gough by Roxburgh and Craig Brown, the arse Burley and his handling of Kris Boyd, hanging Shagger and Fergie out to dry while everyone else was ignored, .... where do you stop?

Whether to support the national team is a personal choice and I totally respect Bears for doing so. I just personally find it difficult given the extent to which it has been hijacked by diddy fans as a vehicle to vent their hatred of Scotland's most successful club - and the club who has contributed most to the national team throughout its history. The sort of narrow-mindedness and petty divisiveness that's been spoiling our game for years.

I always want to see Scotland do well, but these days I largely direct my patriotism into supporting the Scotland rugby team at Murrayfield, where everybody is in it together. Bears of an older vintage tell me it used to be like that at Hampden.

While there are sections of the TA who are arseholes, all of them can't be put into that same category. I'll never fork out £20+ to go and watch Scotland but I'll always want them to win.

I get far more annoyed and upset about a Rangers loss than I do when Scotland lose.

The national game is increasingly irrelevant now. The world cup used to be the highlight of world football but now it's definitely the champions league. Football is so much about money now that club football has leaped forward in importance.

And just look at the people international football is helping to keep their noses in the public trough. Low grade muppets who wouldn't be out of place running the RST.
