Kyle glad Pool bid snubbed

Listening to Chicks interview with McCoist on Tuesday says Lafferty has had a bit of a kick up the ass. Scoring a hat trick wont have done him any harm at all, he may be looking for more of the same himself now.

I still think there is a decent player in him and its up to him to come good.

Value right there

The whole team contributed to us winning the league titles, some more than others.

So his 4 mill price tag is justified by scoring TWO goals ? We are very easily pleased these days if that is the case.

In fact, when we won the league at Tannadice we won 3-0.... so there were two other scorers that day - it just so happened KL scored the first. Did he win the league himself ? Was his goal the only one that won us the league ?

Last year you are being economical with the reality me thinks. Again, he scored the goal that officially won us the league - but anyone who thinks that, had he not scored that goal, we would have lost the league is, quite frankly, barking. Celtic were all over the shop and the league was gift wrapped long before KL scored the clinching goal.

And the converse is true of many fans who love to overstate his contribution.

I think it's more about supporting him as a Rangers player than exaggerating what he's given us.

Thanks for putting words in my mouth too.

Ach, you know it's true, you don't like him, many like you don't and will never be convinced.

Seeing as we didn't sell him of course I want him to play well when he plays.

He has done quite a few times, but this thread is evidence of how little that matters.

He is the club scapegoat and will be till he leaves.

Agreed with that. I will support any Rangers player when selected, even though I was enormously pissed off at Lafferty at Easter Road - it had nothing to do with his performance but with other issues, which we are all too aware of.

I am one who will happily be convinced - but it wont happen on the back of a hat-trick against an obviously inferior team. I have always believed there is a player in Lafferty but all too often we dont get to see it.

No, he hasnt. If "quite a few times" is no more than 6 then you are probably right. I am probably being generous at 6. As the "Boyd bashers" (please, lets NOT make this a Boyd thread" often like to point out - a performance is about more than just goals. Just how many games has Lafferty played where he has played well ?? Hearts last season, Motherwell - be generous and say the title-winning game at Tannadice. But you would be stretched to list many more.

Sorry but a handful of decent games, in my book at least, doesn't equate to "quite a few". He has had far, far more bad games than good in a Rangers jersey. Of that we should really have no debate.

Apparently telling it like it is constitutes never being able to take to him.

More good football and less nonsense off the field and he will get his due backing.

A hat trick is a good start. Better performances more consistently allied to this scoring touch will see him ram those words down the doubters throats.

I'd have been disappointed if you hadn't groaned at me S_A. Predictable as always :)

Don't talk mince and you wont be groaned at. ;)

Just because I don't expect Lafferty to prove me wrong, does not mean I would not prefer he did. What's good for him is good for Rangers at the end of the day.
