Guest Buzz
The one slight, ever so tiny silver lining is that at least he's a full back. I suppose. An out of form Papac or an in form Foster? The agony of choice...
Gazza_8 233
I suppose. An out of form Papac or an in form Foster? The agony of choice... After a bit of thought, I'd give Papac MOTN on Saturday.
stewarty 1,998
Well, its official... http://www.rangers.co.uk/articles/20100831/champs-swoop-for-foster_2254024_2140888 RANGERS have made their fourth signing of the summer by landing Aberdeen utility man Richard Foster on loan - with Andrius Velicka going in the opposite direction. The former Scotland under-21 international follows James Beattie, Vladimir Weiss and Nikica Jelavic to Ibrox. Foster, 25, comes to the champions with good experience after more than seven years of first-team games with the Dons. He made his debut for the Pittodrie side back in May 2003 and made his 250th competitive appearance for his former club at the weekend against Kilmarnock. Although he initially started out as a winger, he takes on a more defensive role these days and his versatility will be an important asset to Gers in the months ahead. Foster began the campaign with a suspension and has only played three minutes in the SPL for them this term. Having played very little part in Mark McGhee's team's pre-season campaign, he is lacking match sharpness. But with manager Walter Smith seeking a squad man to bolster his options, he will feel he has made a good purchase in the Granite City-born player. Velicka moves on to Aberdeen desperate to get game time under his belt following a frustrating last few weeks. Although he was making good progress after a cruciate knee injury last year, an ankle knock a fortnight ago has curtailed him. Velicka did the damage when he was loaned out to Bristol City at the beginning of last season. However, he is looking to kick-start his career again and will do so at Pittodrie.
Guest Buzz
I didn't see the game unfortunately so I can't comment. But ach, who knows. I trust Walter 100%, I'm just a little bemused at this transfer.
Totti 0
I cannot remember the guy playing so am reluctant to slag him off just yet. I'll gee you a hand. You could count the number of good players to play for Aberdeen in the last 10 years with one hand and still have fingers left over. And he's considered one of their worst players. Who the fuck can honestly stand up for David Murray when we're in a position where we have to sign SPL dross just to fill up enough places on the sub bench? I've given Walter plenty stick on here but I know this is a signing he will only have made out of desperation.
Whosthedado 1,670
What does this signing say to the likes of Greg Wylde? I really thought we were getting somewhere with the signings of Jelavic and Weiss but this one is just embarrassing:(
Zappa 0
If Velicka can help Aberdeen take points of the Bheasts then I'm all for it. Foster will bench warm for us at best just as Velicka would be doing... Difference is, Velicka might actually help the sheep take points off the Scum, which would be good for us!
