Duo consider Camoranesi

He obviously has some ability but I don't think he's what we need now. We really need a left sided midfield player capable of attacking and defending and supplying crosses into the box. Assuming Weiss plays on the right we have a big gap on the left.

I'd imagine Naismith will be first choice on the right and Weiss on the left. Naismith is like a mini McCulloch in that Walter very rarely drops him

I'm still not sure wtf happened with Goncalves given that about 8 weeks ago he was announcing on his own website that he was about to join us. He would've given good cover in central defence, central midfield, and at left back

Can't see us going after another winger, especialy someone who will command his sort of wages. Never realy rated the guy anyway.

Did you ever see him play at his peak? Or are you a typical British football fan that passes judgements on Italian footballers despite not having a clue what they're talking about?

Over 200 games for Juventus and nearly 60 caps speaks volumes.

If we can get him and he's anywhere near the level he was, he'd be a great signing even for a season or 2.

I find it highly ironic that at a time where we hardly have the best of squads people are scoffing at him. He was still in the Italy squad recently and would walk the SPL.

That said, I think it is just paper talk. Weiss on one side and Camaronesi on the other seems a bit too good to be true.

People are rightfully wary after the Rothen fiasco. And you'd have to ask yourself why he'd even contemplate a move to Scotland. Assuming this is true, which it probably isn't

People were basing their opinions on Rothen from seeing him play 5 years ago.

Camaronesi was last season a regular for Juventus and Italy and not long ago one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Camaronesi also made the world cup squad, something the likes of Villareal's Rossi did not manage.

Of course I reckon this is more utter bullshit to make us seem ambitious a la Eidur Gudjohnsen

There are some players who regardless of their calibre, it's pretty obvious that the SPL isn't the place for them

I think anyone half decent can do well in the SPL tbh, it is a pish league. I remember when Frank De Boer joined us, he'd been abysmal in Turkey and couldn't hack it but here he walked through every game without breaking sweat.

The likes of Capucho failed because they were finished. Lets not forget, Camaronesi isn't afraid of the odd meaty challenge or kick, playing in the Italian league.

You're right of course, I've never seen him play, but I once saw a picture of him and I don't rate players with curly hair :flipa::giruy:
