Gazza_8 233
Neil Lennon plots Eagles swoop "Neil Lennon could continue his signing spree by landing one-time Rangers target Chris Eagles. SportTimes understands the Parkhead manager is weighing up a move for the Burnley winger as he attempts to put the finishing touches to his squad before the transfer window closes a week tonight. Eagles almost moved to Old Firm rivals Rangers earlier this summer after the Ibrox club had agreed a Ã?£2m deal with the Championship side. The move, however, collapsed when the player rejected a wage offer of around Ã?£12,000-a-week. Celtic are in a position to offer the 24-year-old a more lucrative deal. And Lennon believes he could provide his side with an additional attacking options on the right with the possibility of Marco Fortune being sold to West Brom. A source close to Eagles revealed: ââ?¬Å?It is well known Chris doesnââ?¬â?¢t want to play in the Championship this season after Burnley were relegated from the Premier League and Celtic are the latest club to express an interest in him. ââ?¬Å?It is obviously a prospect that excites him. The chance to move to Rangers fell through after personal terms couldnââ?¬â?¢t be agreed, but that doesnââ?¬â?¢t appear as though it would be a problem this time around.ââ?¬Â Lennon has already brought in nine new players this summer and they have already made an immediate impression with recent performances. And another player who remains a major target is Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin Wilson ââ?¬â?? but the Championship club are demanding Ã?£2m. Wilson has knocked back a new deal at the City Ground in an attempt to force the club to sell him before the end of the month. Celtic were hoping to make room for the stopper by offloading Glenn Loovens to Cardiff on a loan deal, but the Dutchman has knocked the move back and stated he is determined to remain at the club. Goalkeeper Fraser Forster is expected to complete his season-long loan move from Newcastle United today to become signing number 10." But, Sky Sports have this on their website. Skysports.com understands Chris Eagles is close to agreeing a new contract to stay at Championship side Burnley. Eagles is in the final year of his current deal at Turf Moor and recently rejected a move to Rangers after Burnley accepted an offer. Clarets boss Brian Laws remains determined to hang on to the 24-year-old and it is understood Eagles is ready to commit his future to the club. The midfielder has scored 10 goals in almost 100 appearances for Burnley since joining the club from Manchester United two years ago. He has made two substitute appearances in the Championship so far this season and is now set to stay part of Laws' long-term plans.

Gers4Life 0
Weiss for me, young lad and still developing his skills, could turn out to be great signing even if it is a loan deal just now, champions league, here we come
craig 5,199
Dont know enough about either to be honest - obviously impressed with Weiss at the weekend but havent seen much of Eagles. The only thing that I can say though is that even before kicking a ball for some reason Weiss seemed more exciting than Eagles - even some of the Burnley fans were happy to see him probably leave.
