Miller - Life after Boyd

Recommended Posts

I like the way as soon as 'Boyd Who' gets mentioned Boyd fans leap to his defence - this AFTER he is left the club. Yet others can slate Miller who is flying at the moment and giving 110% for the team.

When Boyd was at Rangers I was a critic of him but still got behind him when he played, I just thought he wouldnt be in my XI unless it was the likes of Falkirk at home.

Who is slagging Miller atm.

And as Boyd has gone and was generall a good servant why the need to continue slagging him?

Most ex Rangers who contributed well are treated with a modicum of respect.

Im not disrespecting but Its not as if we are talking about Laudrup, Gascoigne, Goram, Gough, McCoist, Albertz or Cooper leaving. So Gav is right, Boyd's performances will soon be forgotten about while the best of the past wont be. The club moves on, get over it.

Boyd scored goals against junk SPL opposition...big deal...the standard of SPL has been in decline in the last 10-15 years and is probably at an all time low in the last few years, I thought you'd be one who noticed that. So any comparison with past legends is a nonsense. Do I hear you making a fuss about closing the door on Vanoli or Ricksen from their time in a Rangers shirt? we remember they played for Rangers but that its, not many of their performances will stick in my mind the same as Boyd's, yet the likes of Laudrup gives me superb memories.

Who is slagging Vanoli or Ricksen or making snide comments there.

I said this is an earlier post but it is laughable that the kind of fans who wont be able to praise our current strikers without slagging a former one are the one's who hit out with "he's gone, get over it". It's those with the agenda against Boyd who reignited the arguement, so who needs to get over it?

I would have a go at fans slagging other ex-players, more so dependent upon their contribution admittedly. Much as I would defend any unfounded criticism of current players.

I've been slightly critical of Boyd in the past, but as I said in a previous thread, he leaves with my best wishes, and I hope he does well with his new team, in the same way as I hope Fergie and McLeish do well.

We'll miss Boyd's goals, but I'm sure every Rangers fan hopes that the new partnership yields even more.

Hoi! Buffel was a decent player on his day!!!

Sebo could have just been given a chance!!

:box:

Do you mean Buffel was a decent player on his *birthday* - and mediocre for the other 364 days of the year? ;)

An Sebo - how many chances does he need? According to Wikipedia he had 24 chances at Rangers and scored 2 goals. He's had 62 chances at Valenciennes and scored just 6 goals.

That's 86 chances and less than a goal every ten games - given any more chances ahead of Boyd and we'd have won nothing in the last few years (much like when he was here). That's when it becomes baffling when you're so down on a guy who scores more than once every two games...

Each to their own, I suppose... :D

It didn't have to but quite a few can't resist their wee digs.

.

Gribz is just a wind-up merchant on the Boyd subject. He's mostly just fishing & normally gets some heavyweight bites.... :fish:
