Rangers in talks with Eidur Gudjohnsen

What about Kenny Miller? Does he deserve to be dropped?

I was imagining a front 3. Pretty harsh to drop KM, but I'm not so loyal to him as to keep playing him if there's a better player.

Walter Smith has confirmed in today’s Sunday Post that a loan deal for Icelandic international Eidur Gudjohnsen would not be feasible due to the Moncao striker’s massive wage demands. The ex-Chelsea and Barcelona striker had been tipped to make a shock loan move to the Scottish champions over the past week but Smith has all but booted the rumour out after speculation mounted over the course of the week.

Gudjohnsen’s Ã?£40,000 per week wage demands are the reasoning for Smith admitting Rangers would not be interested in taking the player on loan: “We can’t look at the money he’s earning, so he won’t be coming to Ibrox.”

The paper also states that David Goodwillie is a possible target for Rangers, with Andy Webster heading to Tannadice as a part of the deal after the defender’s successful loan spell with the club last season.

Talks are still ongoing with Rapid Vienna over striker Nikica Jelavic after a bid was rejected earlier in the week, and the club have yet to reveal the future of Georgie Welcome after his week long trial at Murray Park.

This is just a PR stunt. Much like when we supposedly tried to sign Claudio Pizarro, but couldn't match his wage demands, despite the fact we would have clearly known we couldn't afford him in the first place.

Vintage Dodgy Dave - make a half hearted attempt to sign an older, big name to con the fans and press into thinking we still have some ambition.

But what's the point when 2 days later the club comes out to deny it?
