Man U Star Dragged from Burning car

Recommended Posts

MANCHESTER United's £18m star Anderson was dragged unconscious from a crashed car shortly before it exploded, it has been reported.

The Brazilian midfielder spent several hours in hospital after the terrifying accident on a rural road in Portugal.

Witnesses said he owed his life to being pulled "lifeless" from the £125,000 Audi R8 shortly before it exploded in the Geres area of Braga.

According to local reports, Anderson, 22, spent the night at the Sardinha Biba nightclub before leaving in the Audi. It came off the road at 7am and hit the wall of a farm before landing in a field.

Anderson reportedly had two companions - a friend, whose name was given only as Victor, and an unnamed young Brazilian woman. It is unclear who was driving. Manchester United were unavailable for comment tonight.

All three were taken to hospital but discharged by late morning after being treated for concussion, whiplash and shock.

"They had only minor injuries," a hospital spokesman said. The woman is understood to have needed the most treatment.
