He's overseen the redevelopment of Headingly and Yorkshire are playing pretty well at the moment in the county championship (top of Division 1 iirc). He at least appears to have some pedigree. George Peat cuts an entirely preposterous figure, lacking any credible experience himself but free to exercise influence over the national game and to cast it in his own terms. As long as we have people like George Peat looking for the solution, there will be no solution. Scotland hasn't qualified for a major finals in 12 years. Our ranking is poor, our results are frequently worse, and teh SFA's ability to organise and fund the wider game is little short of disasterous. rbr uses the only justification for George Peat and God knows how many other parasites continuing to strangle football in this country ... self-interest.
