Regan becomes SFA chief

Don't know much about him mate but he's not exactly a high profile figure.

Nice to see Peat pass the buck onto Smith at the unveiling for Scottish football's failings though.

He's done a decent job at Yorkshire CC as far as I can tell. He's overseen the redevelopment of Headingly and Yorkshire are playing pretty well at the moment in the county championship (top of Division 1 iirc). He at least appears to have some pedigree. Whether that translates into success running an antiquated organisation such as the SFA remains to be seen.

Typical of our wee country attitude to sport that we still have 3 governing bodies overseeing our national game , nice to see self interest is still alive and well at Hampden.

As usual in all things Scottish, the SFA is inhibited from the top down. George Peat cuts an entirely preposterous figure, lacking any credible experience himself but free to exercise influence over the national game and to cast it in his own terms. As long as we have people like George Peat looking for the solution, there will be no solution.

Scotland hasn't qualified for a major finals in 12 years. Our ranking is poor, our results are frequently worse, and teh SFA's ability to organise and fund the wider game is little short of disasterous. rbr uses the only justification for George Peat and God knows how many other parasites continuing to strangle football in this country ... self-interest. Otherwise, how could they possibly justify continuing in office?
