Guest Northampton_loyalist
Tin hat on.. someone elsewhere came up with this little stat. if we judge players on those stats, the greek with *ahem* greek tendancies is a better player than both Dado and Hately who both had a goals to games ration of 1 in 3. In other words, it counts for hee haw in reality.
bmck 117
He's a knob, but Samaras is a good player. I think in a decent side he could do well.
Frankie 8,677
Interesting snippet from FF: According to the Austrian sports magzine "Sportzeitung", which can be regarded as one of the most reliable ones in our country, Nikica Jelavic's move from Rapid to Rangers is fixed and concluded. This can already be found in the title page and in a shorter as well as a longer article in the magazine, which always comes out on Tuesday. However, there is still one question, which might be the reason why the clubs have announced nothing yet: Will Jelaviv move before or after Rapid's games against Aston Villa? - "Sportzeitung" also have the UEFA rules in their main article about Jelavic which are about a player's availability for two teams in one season in European competitions. As these rules are far more complicated than it has been assumed on this messageboard so far, the clubs have been trying to figure out wheter Jelavic could play for Rangers in the CL after he had played for Rapid against Aston Villa. This is not possible, and therefore the "Sportzeitung" claims that it is far more likely that Jelavic will not play for Rapid again.

Frankie 8,677
If he plays against Villa....he is cup tied. Isn't he also cup-tied if Rapid progress regardless of his involvement in the match?
wabashcannonball 0
Isn't he also cup-tied if Rapid progress regardless of his involvement in the match? No if he doesn't play even if he is a substitute or in the pool, he can play for us if he signs, if he takes any part in the Villa game, i.e. plays he is cup tied.

ian1964 10,777
That rules seems to be confusing everyone - conflicting stories about it every day. Maybe this is partly causing the delay in signing him??
wabashcannonball 0
Maybe this is partly causing the delay in signing him?? The delay is he wants to go to the premiership, we are a back up...if we are stupid enough to be...what ever happened to our proud club, still allowing a guy with a track record like a multiple train wreck to negotiate transfers, once a pieman always a pieman.
