rbr 1,270
No matter what transpires this close season ,one thing is becoming very obvious .The old Firm , yes both clubs are in the shitter , the downsizing at Porkheid is becoming every bit as much of a fire sale as anything that might yet happen with us . We are meant to be in the grubber , we are meant to be struggling to attract new players whilst attempting to stave off any and every offer for our " star " players , some of this in fact all of this may be true , however what is surprising is that in fact our so called esteemed neighbours are every bit as much in the grubber. The sale of borat is more than just moving a player in the last season of his contract on , it's a sign to the masses that they are downsizing , for Borat was the £15million Goalie was he not ,he was the player held up as the modern incantation of everything Septic stood for , the oppressed, the put upon by those bigoted Rangers fans . In fact along with Lennon he was held up as the very embodiement of the modern Septic . Yet now he is gone and for 2 million Euros , and with wee Aidridden being kept at home in case someone actually bids ( there is no real problem with his injury ,according to Ronnie Cully ) the new modern septic is taking place , like us cheaper short term signings , Bosmans and loanees . The future might just not be so bleak after all .( Domestically at least ) Edited July 12, 2010 by rbr
Frankie 8,677
I don't mind any player leaving (for the right sum) but we must replace them and show the supporters who invest into the club we still have the ambition required to improve.
chilledbear 16
It's a crazy business this following your team. You pays your money May/June to watch your team the following season, come July/August, sorry but we have to sell 2 or 3 players, and the replacements might not be of the same quality. It's a bit like paying to see the Beatles, and ending up watching Hermans Hermits [ sorry young 'uns] Why do supporters keep buying S/T, instead of tickets on a weekly basis, I know there are certain perks, but are they worth being treated like mushrooms. Why are there no A/Q sessions, I know the other side are doing it for S/T sales, but are we not worth a few nights of answering TRUTHFULLY, some of the concerns we have.

Season tickets are no longer the necessity they used to be. Sure if we want to be at Ibrox when Celtic visit, you'll need one but other than that game you'll get a ticket for any match nowadays and you won't pay all that much more to pay on a match-by-match basis. The lack of interaction with the rank and file fans is shameful.
rbr 1,270
I am starting too think that anything they can do we just have to better it , £2 million for Thomson is really pathetic , unless they have a player ready to buy , and eagles certainly isn't that player . Back to my previous doom and gloom mode , what's the betting davies still wont get played central
Frankie 8,677
Depends on our formation. I think we'll be playing a 4-2-3-1 so would imagine Davis will play centrally in that with a player like Eagles (hopefully) in the right-sided role.

I agree with the formaation Frankie , I just worry about the players we have to play it . This is starting to get really serious , I understand the thinking if Thomson has intimated that he will not sign a new contract ( if we were ever in a position to offer him one ) but we are getting weaker and weaker . Also if we had offered Boyd a new contract how can we not offer Thomson one , yet again something is stinking in the state of Denmark , and were getting very very close to the mythical muir 14
