Frankie 8,677
Wee addition Frankie.... It's been a bit crowded at times in midfield but I think Edu could do the job given the chance. This is one of those career defining moves that we see from time to time for certain players. Stay and battle on probably with the captain's armband of the worls record breaking champions sooner rather than later OR take the well worn path to middle of the road championship/EPL teams and the wad of cash that comes with it. There's no doubt we have plenty central midfield players but I'd say Thomson is definitely the best of the three holding players we use. As such, I wouldn't want to lose him and I certainly don't want Lee Miller. If they offer £4million then we lift the phone, anything less is a nonsense. Unless of course the player has indicated a new contract will be left unsigned.
ascender 352
I think Thomson is the best we have at the moment and given his age and apparent happiness here, is one we should be looking to keep. Like Frankie says, his inconsistency has been very frustrating, but you have to wonder how we'd replace him for that kind of money. On the other hand, would it make Walter's team selection a bit easier and give a chance to someone else to establish themselves in there? 4M would surely be a minimum for him and they can keep Lee Miller.

We saw exactly the same thing this time last year... and how long did it take WS to send Monkeyheid back South with his tail between his legs ? I agree it is disconcerting watching them have so much press time - but as of yet they have signed no-one of note - lots of rumour, no action - yet.

Gazza_8 233
I'd be gutted if we sold Kev Tamsin. I compare him to Stuart McCall and although not reached the standard of play McCall did, I believe he can be as good if not better. Why is Chesney not approaching Celtic for some of their players?

Because unlike us, Celtic don't give players away for buttons Getting almost £3 million for McManus is absolutely incredible business
craig 5,199
Getting almost £3 million for McManus is absolutely incredible business Is that factual or is it part of the "seville calculator" which also gets trotted out for attendances at Parkhead ?
Zappa 0
Is he being forced to listen to offers for all players? . I'd say that's a certainty and not only that, I don't think Walter will have the final say on acceptance (or not) of a good offer just like what I believe happened with the acceptance of the Boyd offer from Birmingham. I could be wrong though...
wabashcannonball 0
What is he trying to say here? Is he being forced to listen to offers for all players? If so, why doesn't he just say no if he wants them to stay. In addition, he can test the player's resolve by offering them a new contract. If they are not interested, that's when we listen to offers. Depends which Wattie is speaking, the "it can only get worse" Wattie...or... "it's all blown out of proportion" Wattie.
