Bluedell 5,715
You mean laffs has scored more goals and is a better and safer prospect than the scoring machine and SPL record holder ?, of course you don't .....and he never will be ... Strange that you seem to take such joy in that.
Guest Flying Hippo
Strange that you seem to take such joy in that. Indeed Wabash does seem to hate the idea of someone doing a better job than Boyd. Seems to have forgotten that Boyd chose to leave Rangers despite being offered the chance to be our joint highest paid player
wabashcannonball 0
Get used to seeing a lot of this next season as the best strike partnership in the SPL click into gear What I find it hard to get used to, is your constant bigging up of a failure and rank bad buy, who has had more chances than any chancer, you'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Now if you could only give the SPL alltime hit man the same backing as Laffs, I could maybe be tempted to soften a bit towards the big guy, but he should be fekin arrested for yon mental jiggin, he's as bad if not worse than crouchy...:spl:

Guest Flying Hippo
As i've said many times, the time to write someone off is when they've had a consistent run in their natural position playing alongside their best potential partner. Lafferty has started up front alongside Miller 6 times in 2 years, scoring 4 goals in these 6 games Miller got the best out of Boyd by pretty much negating Boyd's need to do any donkey work. Lafferty is quicker than Boyd (by far), better at hold up play than Boyd, and is able to play as a lone striker unlike Boyd. The partnership excites me. Fair enough if others don't feel the same.

Not going to disagree with anything you have posted here FH... but the one thing you inadvertently (or was it) forgot to mention was scoring prowess. Lafferty may be quicker, better at old up play, play the lone striker role (how often will we actually need that given we will be papped out of Europe early anyway?) - but he does NOT have the predatory instincts of Boyd. I suspect he (Lafferty) will do a decent job for us though - but he needs to hit the ground running with a couple of goals in the first few games otherwise the fans will be on his back and the head will go down.
Guest Flying Hippo
I wouldn't write off Lafferty's scoring prowess just yet. His current average is around 1 goal every 4 games which could be a lot worse given that about half his appearances have been as a sub, and about 75% of them as a left winger

For a proper comparison you were looking at where they ARE, not where they might be. I seem to be picking on you FH, dont mean to I think Lafferty will come good in all honesty.

If Lafferty had played for 4 and a half years as a striker and had been first pick for 4 of those 4 and a half years, i wouldn't be defending him
