Guest Flying Hippo
Don't let his diabolical Newcastle career and the passing of time fool you; Boumsong absolutely strolled the SPL. He had two bad games for us (Hearts and Auxerre at Ibrox) and was magnificent in every other game he played. Considering the clubs he turned down in order to join us (though it was simply about money, sadly) and the fact he was already a France international, i doubt we'd be looking at getting the same fee for Bougherra. I'd be very happy with £6 million

As you say Boomsong was good in the SPL but was found out elsewhere.
ian1964 10,781
At the end of the day,it matters not what we,fans, think but what managers of watching clubs think. Now regardless of what we think is an average team Engurland is irrelevant to most, what matters is that Bougherra was a stick out against them and proved that he is at least as good as the so called super stars of Engurland and the EPL so there is no reason to accept a paltry fee for him, if other teams want him then they pay what Rangers FC want for him, if they don't want to pay the asking price then GTF and we will keep him for another 2 seasons and hopefully by winning the league we will benefit more than selling him for £4m.

Gribz 966
Yip Im with Pete and Ian here. Keeping Bougherra gives us more chance of winning the SPL title and getting us into the CL giving us 10 million again - thats worth more than his wages or a 4 million fee. The club shouldnt accept a penny less than 9 million for me.
Gribz 966
Spot on. I still go into raptures when I think we could have had Cuellar and Boogie together in out defence. And Hutton at RB at the same time!
Gazza_8 233
DUTD want £3m for Goodwillie?, BHEAST want £12m for a wee crot sand dancer?. Me thinks Bougherra is worth more than these two The thing is though, attacking players will also be worth more than defenders.

At that point we would have wished we cashed in.

craig 5,199
True, but we will have a better chance to qualify if we can keep our best players a better chance perhaps, but when your chances are slim in the first place it doesnt improve them that much !
