rbr 1,270
Wait a minute rbr... No-one is anybody's fool here and just because some may doubt 2nd hand information (though not your honesty) doesn't mean they're super fans of Donald Muir. Far from it in fact. I just prefer a balanced debate and you'll have seen myself take issue with parts of Rab's article on here and on RM. I did the same when Muir had his informal meeting with selected fans. I wouldn't trust the guy as far as I could throw him but the same goes for most people in authority in my case. Doesn't mean I disagree with him every time or that I may be wrong on occasion. Fair enough Frankie , but this whole Donald Muir thing has yet again been split into inter site Rivalries , if you argue against him on RM you get slaughtered as they all believe it is a FF thing , in fact RM is getting so bad I have stopped going on it . I cant wait for the season to start so we can start moaning about the players and leave all these nomark directors alone , poor wee lambs . In fact going back to my original point , this is as much a waste of time as debating any potential takeover , I agree everything is second hand including what I have been told and as such pretty pointless posting it . wabashcannonball 0
We are in a far better place than the doom merchants had programmed for us, despite all their fairy stories of financial demise, funnily enough certain parties who had those exclusives of banks demanding instant payback, are the same ones with exclusive sources regardinf "done deals". Muir is what he is a rescue specialist, and why is he constantly referred to as the enemy within......away and grow up..the guy is doing what he was employed for.

And just how exactly do you know this , as to the best of my knowledge our next set of results aren't out yet . Infact your going back on my ignore list , makes life much easier It's amazing how you post entirely differently on here to FF , almost as if you has a split personality disorder

pete 2,499
If Muir has been put in place to get the club back on positive financial terms then it is something we have been needing for years. It is not just Rangers who are going to have to tighten our belts but the whole of football and in fact you and me and everyone else, as the world economy has changed. Michael van Praag the ex-Ajax Chairman and now on the UEFA board said on Dutch TV last week that only teams who can balance their books will be allowed entry into the CL from season 2012. UEFA are going to do everything in their power to enforce this. That does not mean you can have no debt but the debt of the club has to be on a par with the income of the club. The dooms day scenario that we were going to be playing our youth team this season seems thankfully to have been scaremongering crap. We have had the rich sugar daddy crap. We have had the 10 pound for every 5 pound speech. A board who run things within our means can only be a good thing in my eyes.
pete 2,499
Just to add to my Michael van Praag interview he also stated that UEFA are going to have a hit team of financial experts who can turn up at any time and ask to examine a clubs books.
metlika 0
Tbh I think we will be ok, although the players brought in over the next few years will be interesting. Its the English teams I think will probably struggle to meet turnover to debt or whatever they are going to implement.

rbr 1,270
Well said Pete. When all is said and done, this is the fundamental reality we must live with. And if we can have a management team with a bit of foresight , that wouldn't go amiss either , however this announcement tonight has only left us with years of the same
