It seemed as though he didn't feel he had anything to prove at Rangers any more, which was really sad. It's almost as if he thought he could just turn up and kick a ball around without giving 100%. I'm pleased that he's done well done there though & I hope he keeps it up.

Begs the question why the bold Barry was so utterly shite for Rangers on a weekly basis during the 08/09 season

I am afraid it wasn't just that one season he was shite. He had one fantastic season under Advocaat and the rest were excuses of Barry not being fully fit.

Because psychologically he wasn't in it anymore. After the PLG saga then Boozegate, his days at Ibrox were numbered and he wasn't in any sort of form for us.

He needed a new environment and challenge - he was still the same class player but only a new team was going to get that back out of him.

Think you're forgetting the 18 months he had when McLeish first took over

Footballing wise I don't think anyone can deny his quality

I think our support are equally guilty of overrating him and underrating him

He was never anywhere close to world class, though many claimed that he was especially in the McLeish era

I never said he was world class, but he was as near to world class as any Scottish player of his era
