Danny 0
But administrator Andrew Andronikou values Smith at £2m and Gers aren't keen to spend so much on a 30-year-old. . Had to giggle slightly at this - if it's true, then we are showing brass neck because we sold 30 year old Pedro Mendes for almost £2m.
Guest Flying Hippo
It shows why Portsmouth are in the shit they're in when they value 30 year old nonentities at £2 million
Jim White 0
Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou has rejected a 'derisory' bid for Tommy Smith from Rangers. More... Gers' Smith bid blastedPompey administrator insists players will not be sold on cheap Last updated: 3rd June 2010 Administrator Andrew Andronikou has warned other clubs there will be no fire sale at Portsmouth after receiving a 'derisory' bid for Tommy Smith. Scottish champions Rangers are reported to have made a £300,000 offer for the 30-year-old striker, who netted just once following his move from Watford last summer. But Andronikou has blasted the bid and insists, despite Pompey's financial problems, that Smith will only be leaving if the club's £1.5million valuation is met. He told the Scottish Daily Express: "I've received an offer from Rangers for Tommy Smith. "It came via the player's agent earlier this week but has been turned down flat. "I have to say I was absolutely gobsmacked when I was told about the offer. "It was an absolute joke, nowhere near the level we value Tommy. It can only be described as derisory. "If clubs think that because Portsmouth are in administration we will accept any old offer, then they are mistaken. "There will be no fire sale here and players will only be sold if we receive offers that meet our valuation." Zappa 0
No thanks to Riordan. Stokes is more attractive but even he comes with baggage that may be too difficult for him to overcome (not just the ROI stuff either)... . Surprisingly, a lot of Rangers fans don't seem to care about the baggage and would be delighted if we signed Stokes. Not going to happen though. a) We can't afford him unless we sell players. b) We probably wouldn't even target him. c) He's likely to want to play for Celtic ahead of us and signing for us would ruin his chances of that happening.
Guest Flying Hippo
Stokes is way out of our price range considering the fees they got for Brown and Fletcher I'd accept an Irishman at the club so long as he wasn't a bitter Republican sort

I think the players would be too terrified about the reaction 'back home' to consider joining us Alan Maybury played for us as a schoolboy and says the abuse he received back in Oireland contributed to his decision to eventually sign for Leeds
Zappa 0
really, i've not met anyone that wants him . You have Johnny because 5 very regular Gersnet posters voted for Stokes as the SPL player they'd like to see us sign next season and I was one of those 5. TBH, I only voted for Stokes because I think he's got bags of potential, could potentially make us a profit and would add a different type of goalscoring threat to what we have (now that we've lost Boyd). He also doesn't seem as much of a poser as Goodwillie who's the most popular target.
