ascender 352
We have Broadfoot, but if we need him, then we're better off upping our offer to him than letting him go. He can also play at RB, has a good attitude and as money is so tight, better the devil you know and all that.
Guest Flying Hippo
Agreed. He can't ask for a better tutor than Weir. Plus he'd almost certainly have been first choice next season, playing in the Champions League aswell Strikes me as a desperate agent, a desperate club (us, not Liverpool), and a boy with no Rangers allegiances Edited May 8, 2010 by Flying Hippo
metlika 0
There bloody better by a 50% sell on clause otherwise this will be a ridiculous deal. Finding it hard to take selling him for so little anywhere else and he would be worth £5m even with the length of contract. Scottish football is really crap at the moment its beginning to goto the standard of Scandinavian football but they probably get better prices than us now...
metlika 0
I also find it hard at the POTY awards he was in no rush to decide his future, I guess the bankers are being dicks again..
Guest Flying Hippo
Can't blame the bankers for this one imo. We're already losing Boyd on a bosman after he rejected a move that could've earned us £3.75 million. We couldn't risk losing Wilson for about £300,000 compensation
H1ndy 0
hopefully all paper talk , but have a gut feeling he off. his interview at the ypoty awards seemed like he was for the off imo.

We couldn't risk losing Wilson for about £300,000 compensation If Boyd had moved last year , there would have been no league win and therefore no c/l money , and you have to admit he has scored one or two this year to ensure we have the c/l money again .
Guest Flying Hippo
Velicka came into the team and scored 4 goals in 5 games, so i'm not convinced that selling Boyd in the January would've meant no league title
Gribz 938
Lets see how Wilson does without a mentor next to him. Has he played any games without Weir this season?
johnnyk 158
Lets see how Wilson does without a mentor next to him. Has he played any games without Weir this season? if he does leave it could well go against him at this time of his career. if boogie had been fit and not went AWOL he would never had played as many games if any. He has done very well but only as gribz said playing beside someone like weir. i don't know if it's him or his agent but he is not being well advised in any way. why would you leave a team in the CL and winning trophies every year and playing first team football to one who you will hardly ever get a game with and are in pretty bad shape as well? It can't all be down to money for a 17 year old surely? it's his choice at the end of the day so if he moves he moves, we get some money for him and hopefully pick up another bargain like Carlos or Boogie............
