RST involved in new takeover bid?

Recommended Posts

Disagree actually - I think professionals are professionals when it comes to being paid for business. And if that person is a friend, then that adds weight to consulting someone who may be able to think differently from the average bear.

.

I'm sure you're right, but it seems to me that it would be an ill-advised course of action for the RST. They need to be gathering support amongst the fans, not further alienating themselves through seeking the advice of Celtic fans, professional or not! Only a minority of fans would stomach it.

To be fair, they have distanced themselves from the suggestion so it is probably a moot subject.

That's not how your S.Smith quote reads though -

ââ?¬Å?But if David Low is supportive of the concept of greater fan involvement and ownership then we would not be averse to talking to him.

ââ?¬Å?Of course the Rangers/Celtic thing can be a dynamic thing, as everyone knows, but the fact is that if anyone has sound financial advice to offer then we will talk to them.ââ?¬Â

.

Probably reading too much into this.

I suppose so but I don't think it is all that important in the grand scheme of things as long as Mr Low's advice was used alongside other sources as well.

Much ado about nothing IMO. :)

A question for the shakers and movers in high finance and the rich list. I am reliably informed by the person who asked the question, that neither Noble Grossart nor Rangers will give a straight answer as to whither any party is performing DD, the same person assures me it is a legitimate question which infringes no SE rules, any idea why we do not have a definitive on this.

In my experience, that is standard. As I said earlier in the thread, I've been involved in a few DD projects, albeit some time ago, and they were generally shrouded in secrecy with no confirmation given about anything and codewords used.

This approach may not always be the case, but given that it is being done through an off-shore shell company then it's possible that DD is being carried out with strict instructions given that there is to be no publicity.

Many businesses operate under the rule of giving out as little information as they can get away with.

Thanks for that Bluedell, but I must admit to thinking that a simple yes or no keeps everything in perspective.

ETA the last sentence gives it away, a plug for Low's book. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/rangers/celtic-takeover-expert-david-low-rejected-chance-to-be-local-partner-in-rangers-bid-1.993301

Plgsarmy said yesterday that they were preparing a press release. Nothing on it yet, though.

Things were changing on an hourly basis yesterday (and today). I'll wait for our media guys to decide on timing.

It's wrong that the members are not being told anything formally, and having to rely on newspaper quotes (which have proved to be less than accurate in the past ;)) or soundbites on radio stations, all of which many members may not have listened to.

It seems that the members on FF are being kept up to date with various comments from board members as to who the RST have or have not been dealing with, whereas members who don't go onto that website are not being afforded the same courtesy.

So much for the promises of better communication.

Non-FF members of the RST are being treated as second class members.

And are these up to date comments readily available to anyone who logs into FF?

And if so why doesn't someone on here who has an account with both sites, copy and paste it on here?

Sorry Bluedell, but the only comment I saw on FF about who we are dealing with was the denial that David Low was in any way involved with our document. This was posted on here which is why I didn't bother. If I've missed something then you'll have to forgive me. We've tried very hard recently to ensure that our members are e-mailed first then put things up on our site prior to anything going on messageboards. We only found out late on Saturday night about this leak and on Sunday and Monday our media guys were inundated by the press looking for information. We'll issue a ststement in due course but other than the above I can't see anything else on FF that hasn't been available elsewhere.
