bmck 117
Seems to be quite widely reported that Ellis is out. The Herald understands the deal is foundering after the bidder became aware that land set aside for "the Ibrox masterplan" had limited use. Sources in London, who first revealed interest in Rangers two weeks ago to The Herald, say property developer Andrew Ellis will confirm in the coming days that he is walking away from buying the debt-ridden Scottish champions. It is understood Mr Ellis was left shocked when it transpired that ambitions for a major retail development that had been an integral part of the deal could not go ahead on the site because the club do not have clearance or planning in place. http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/33m-rangers-takeover-bid-on-the-brink-of-collapse-1.1014488 Are we happy about this?
Frankie 8,830
Still not certain apparently - the Herald article was taken off a Celtic forum 'scoop' but Northampton Loyalist has a text from Ellis saying 'we have not pulled out'...
bmck 117
So the 'same contacts in London' thing is nonsense? Who would've thought That's good to know. I'm not sure if I want him in, but the longer he's in the more interest at very least is being drummed up.
mainstandbear 0
- the Herald article was taken off a Celtic forum 'scoop' Now, why am i not surprised? I would add 'have they nothing better to do?' but then obviously, other than cashing their giros, they dont.
