Kris Boyd has denied deliberately elbowing Merouane Zemmama in Rangers' 3-0 win over Hibernian on Sunday. The Moroccan claimed Boyd should have been sent off after the pair clashed before half-time with the game scoreless. Boyd was only booked for obstruction rather than dangerous play and Zemmama feels the striker was lucky to stay on. The Gers ace insists contact is part and parcel of the game and that he would always be in the spotlight if he moaned about strong challenges. "These things happen in football. It's a man's game and you get on with it," he told the Scottish Sun. "I know I caught Zemmama but it wasn't as though I set out to hurt him. I'm just not that kind of player. "Fact is, if I moaned every time I got hit, I'd never be out of the papers. "I'm sure in future I will get caught with something similar - it happens. I didn't mean to touch him. "Maybe he is just disappointed by the result and looking for any excuse to deflect from that fact." Meanwhile, Boyd believes Zemmama is one to talk about going down easily after he also pointed the finger at Kenny Miller for simulation in winning Gers' penalty. "I actually find it astonishing that somebody like Zemmama, who nine times out of 10 goes down when he's hardly been touched, can point the finger at Kenny," he continued. "Don't get me wrong, I did catch Zemmama and there is no denying that, even if it was accidental. But when you look at other challenges on him on Sunday, he fell about like he'd been shot. "I think for him to have a go at Kenny is like the pot calling the kettle black." Edited February 16, 2010 by Frankie

Guest bluenose1303
Fact is, if I moaned every time I got hit, I'd never be out of the papers. Dundee Utd game where Boyd got the back of his neck ripped open immediately springs to mind. Get them told Kris :spl:

Super_Ally 0
Excellent comments from Boyd, just defending himself and his team mates with honesty. Some good points above too.
