The Curious Case of Steven Whittaker

Recommended Posts

As well written as that article is, it's a symptom of football - it's a bit fickle.

A week or so ago there wouldn't have been anything like this praise - but after one admittedly excellent display hopes are high for him again.

The nature of football fans. Bein fickle, hypocrisy and any number of other bad characteristics are mandatory. :D

There was an article in one of the tabloid rags today (Sun or Record) highlighting that Whittaker is only 1 goal away from equaling John Greig's record of 11 goals in a season. If Whittaker gets another 2 goals he'll be the highest scoring full back for a season in Rangers history, although he may not go down in the history books as such given that he scored a few whilst being played in midfield. It was an interesting little piece nonetheless, including an interview with Greig discussing Whittaker.

That's an interesting wee stat, though as you point out he has not played solely at RB.

Is the article worth a read? Don't wanna give hits to the tabloid press.

.

Just had a look for it, but I can't see it online mate. It wasn't one of the main articles & they probably only publish the main ones online, not sure.
