OnlyOneAmoruso 0
15 goals conceded in 25 games is why. I've seen this debated to death on FF recently and the arguments for it are very convincing (might go look for a concise appraisal of this tactic as I don't think I could explain it so well myself). The only concern at a corner is to defend the first ball. Doesn't matter how many you've got up waiting for a clearance if they score from the first ball in does it? Edit: Thommo for me. I guess, but theres so much benefit from keeping men up. Not sure if Mourinho still does it but he used to keep 3 players up front at Chelsea when defending corners. This meant the opposition had to keep 4 back to defend. Add in the attacker actually taking the corner kick and it leaves the attacking team with only 5 players in the box compared to the defending team's 7. This leaves enough defenders to have one man on each post and 5 man marking. It's what we should be doing imo. It is very rare we concede from a corner.
