David Edgar on Sportsound

Recommended Posts

Edgar just said something telling: 'say the truth Lloyds, instead of saying you're here to help Rangers, say you're here to get your money back'.

Doesn't this back up what I keep harping on about? That we got into this mess ourselves, and they're just wanting their cash back.

They own our debt and us, they're a bank. Why would they care about our wellbeing other than our staying affloat?

What the heck is a protest against?

'Lloyds, stop operating like a bank and...er...er...ok, they ARE a bank, why are we protesting?'

Just tuned in Zappa. A wee rundown on what I missed?

Cheers

.

Executive summary is - a call to hear directly from Donald Muir & to ignore Walter Smith's comments last night & the manner in which he put them across at your peril.

Thanks mate.

The call for clarity is out there. If Muir is simply trying to recoup the money owed then he will have no problems with coming out and saying so.

The fact that no journalist can get near him for love nor money tells its own story.

Basically Edgar completely blames Muir at this point, and demands to know his intentions. He agrees with me that Lloyds are a bank and a business and are entitled to want their money back, but he wants to know Muir's blueprint for Rangers given he's on our board.

I rarely say this, but I agree with him.

A protest against Lloyds is misplaced, demands to know Muir's plans aren't.

It was also said that Walter is currently holding the club together, the word 'glue' being used descriptively of Walter's ongoing role. It's not expected that Walter will go further with details about what's going on behind the scenes, but highly respected that he's said what he has since he's only said these things because he cares so much about the club. David Edgar spoke very highly of the roles that Walter Smith & Martin Bain are playing in our current situation, saying that Walter is up their with Bill Struth in his personal opinion.

The general opinion is that unless the club is bought over there will definitely be a downsizing of the club starting with players being lost and sold in the summer. :(

To work without a contract shows Walter, Ally and Kenny to be guys who actually care about this club and its future. It's an astonishing gesture which is beyond rare in football.
