Frankie 8,830
Dave King has an investment in the club. Paul Murray would be the obvious candidate. Thanks for clarifying that...
OnlyOneAmoruso 0
Playing devil's advocate for a minute, why did Muir not force the club to accept the bid for McGregor? Thats the stickler for me as well. There was also a bid ranging from £3.5m-£5m from Sunderland for Bougherra and an apparently £1.5m offer from Birmingham for Boyd. All I can think is that he believes he will get the £31m from the consortium and doesn't wish to make it any less an attractive prospect to the buyer? Or is that just stupid? EDIT: Sccgers now saying he doesn't believe there were any bids. Edited February 4, 2010 by OnlyOneAmoruso
Frankie 8,830
Playing devil's advocate for a minute, why did Muir not force the club to accept the bid for McGregor? Muir wants to get as much money for the bank as possible. I doubt even he would want to sell assets for less that they could get in the summer. The McGregor deal was a loan and didn't guarantee a sale.

Is it not a bit more likely that we didn't actually receive those offers at all? Ok, the McGregor one was confirmed, but were the others? Regarding the McGregor offer, it wasn't a good piece of business for us. It was only a good piece of business for Spurs & we'd effectively just have been lending him out for the rest of the season for £500k.

I thought that the reported McGregor deal had quotes from Redknapp.

andrew_2010 0
The deadlines of the transfer window could also have been a factor. As well as the apparent delay in communication between Muir and the club.
Beattie 0
Folk elsewhere trying to get these printed and passed around. Personally think it's good work taking into consideration the points made on the leaflet come from reputable sources as oppose to throwing around wild accusations.
wabashcannonball 0
When did Murray buy the bank ? after all it is well documented that Muir is in the employ of the Mint, unless of course there is categorical evidence that he is in fact a bank employee, which there isn't.
Tannochsidebear 2,475
This is also the bit I dont really get. Muir is employed by Murray through PPG. Yet all we hear is that he is the turnaround specialist for banks, and has been put in place by the bank to get their money back. Although if Murray's complete empire is in trouble (as we know it most certainly is) and the bank have put them into their intensive care unit, effectively running the empire then I suppose Muir can be used by the bank, whilst being paid by PPG, to try to tidy everything up, starting with RFC, for a bit fat fee of course to him personally. Not sure exactly, and we certainly ain't going to be told anytime soon, after all we are merely the paying customers and minority shareholders.
