Gers4Life 0
Complete agree with that. Felt he rushed it and it was a poor effort. Yip i felt that myself.
Super_Ally 0
Purportedly Boyd's record: I make it he has scored 24 out of 28 penalties for Rangers not including shoot-outs or friendlies. He had four saved - v Maccabi Haifa, Dundee United, Aberdeen (scored rebound) and Kilmarnock. In all four of those games Rangers won the match anyway. One great stat is that he has always hit the target with his penalty...not one over the bar or hit the post etc. Only once did he score a pen in a game Rangers failed to win...v Motherwell at Fir Park in Sept 2007.
bluedan 93
Sometimes I worry about Boyd taking the penalties. Boyd seems to have put more control into them now and I am less worried, as he used to just hit and hope. However, more often than not his power peanlties usually ended up in the net. I knew Naismith would miss, if Novo was still on he would have scored. Fleck should have taken it imo. Must say i've never feard Boydy taking missing a pen. I think i've only seen him miss one and that was against Killie last year when it WAS a shit pen. But he knows how to take one. He has the same approach as van nistlerooy or Shearer in that he pretty much goes for the same spot and drills it. Notice how mostly all of Boyds spot kicks hardly come off the deck, that's quality to do that.
ian1964 10,720
When he was going to take the penalty on Sunday I knew he would score, scoring a penalty is not as easy as everybody likes to make out, hence the reason some are missed even by the best players in the world, but Boyd probably is one of the best penalty takers around,IMO
Super_Ally 0
For the first time ever I worried he might miss at the weekend. Then of course he didn't and I asked myself wtf was I worried about. Saw a comment from one fan saying they should save time and just award the goal. :spl:
bmck 117
best compliment i can give boydy is that he stops my penalty psychosis. i try to think "we are going to miss this" to make the universe think i dont think its going to go in, so it does the opposite. the universe doesnt reward optimism. but then if i slip and think "hah, thats me cheated the universe" it knows i really think we are going to score and makes us miss. and on it goes until whatever happens. boydy cuts all that out as i think "fuck the universe, statistically he is probably going to score". more boydy penalties please!
